Got most of the car buffed out, fortunately it turned out straight, didn't miss any spots, just a few small dings.

Sorry, no. It takes me too long to do and I do it outside so my window is very limited.

Also started to work on the vent windows. Took them all apart.

The stainless was a bit weathered:

Sanded it down with extra fine paper:

    Then buffed:

    Also did the window surround:

Progress is a bit slower, no longer on vacation! :(

    Here is the vent window:

Blasted and painted all latch hardware and made new anti rattle washers from some neoprene craft foam.

I was able to determine my key code and the pins required to re-tumble my locks to match my ignition and trunk.

The only set of locks that I could find were a different key code, not sure where I put the originals.

So I matched the tumblers up and now have a functioning door lock. Had to make a new spring retainer (brass shim stock), it seems to be doing the job just fine. Just I am waiting on the outer beauty ring to do final reassembly.

One more update for tonight, put in rewired headlight/ powder coated bucket and repolished headlight trim. Starting to resemble a car!

BTW, this was 10+ years ago same pieces of trim and car..... The bar is not the best but from a distance it is ok, I've picked up a better one that should help top it off.

    Todays update:

back some time ago I had a bunch of tail lights all that were the outer directional were basically toast. I found that the reverse ones were in good shape because of their location.

So I retrofitted them to turn/stop signal sockets. Aluminum "soldered" the openings closed in put in new sockets in the back.

I even powercoated the mounting brackets in a faux chromate for good measure.

Here they all mounted up along with repolished license plate surround.

Power coated the rims, period correct Western Wheels superlites.

Rims are chrome power coat and did the center area a darker flatter gray.

Received rechromed bumpers and I painted the back side just for extra protection and I powder coated all the mounting brackets. Hopefully will get them mounted this week.

Where did you have the bumpers re-chromed?

I actually purchased them from a corvair supplier that sells used rechromed ones with out needing a core. Locally they would have cost me 200 more to have mine rechromed.
