You might recall I recently put catalytic converters on the nova because I don't like the smell. #oldman

Ok another brake teaser, upgrading rear rotors and capipers. Rotors are vented 300mm s4 b6 rotors stock are non-vented 255mm. The later allroads come with vented rear rotors but I figured since I am upgrading the front why not go larger on the rear. I will post more pics of how I get them to fit.

These are in fact only 12mm smaller than the front stock rotors. The new front rotors will be 345mm goodness...

My goal this week is to get the swap done.

The rear breaks are mostly done. Had to fab a bracket to move the caliper mount further out. Its .44" thick so it is not going anywhere.

I also had to create a bushing to allow the new mounting bolts to have a good surface to bear down on, since they were close to the other bolts.

Here it is all mounted up with old pads in. Waiting on new pads and I will hook up the lines and bleed the new calipers.

Got the front to the mock up stage, calipers resealed and painted. Waiting on final hardware bits to arrive tomorrow and new brake lines.

    Minglor has that one covered.

Having a 454 in it now it has plenty of power. Probably the only way that I would do an ls swap would be if I was also going to do suspension work on it. That way it would not be fighting the weight of the big block. Not saying that I won't just not now.

What I really need to do is to get back working on my corvair!!!! It has been sitting on the rotisserie for 9-10 years now!!!!

If you're itching to work on some air-cooled stuff, I could help you out with that.

Some final shots, still working through the break in material on the pads (ebc has break in material for first 200 miles, then you do full break in), but Wooh! When you need to stop you stop.

Well its back to winter mode. Put the air suspension back in and the winter wheels. The just fit, probably 2 mm clearance.

Also had the chance to put in new silly rabbit motorsports intercoolers.

    Those calipers are sooooo close.
Glad to see those intercoolers made it off the garage floor.
