no. even though it is a vag product, I HATE SUVs! I'm not even a big fan of the Toureg or however it is spelled, I really don't care. Yes it has a really snazzy interior but it is still a gas guzzling poor handling PIG. Gimme a passat 4 motion or better yet any audi with "avant" on the end of it's name and a "Q" some where in its title. I have a little interest when the v10 TDi comes out. ultimatly, i'd go with a car b4 an evil SUV.

"Late in the game" is what I feared with the Touareg, but they stepped up with one hell of a unit! As for the Golf based...they've done a few versions in the European market ie the Golf Country...don't know if I'd rock one but I probably would if I could get over my fear of the advanced engine management electronics...

    I don't know...but probably not. I'm not a fan of SUV's.
I think that all US made ones are a piece of poop, but the Toureg is pretty kick ass. And that's only because VW made the only SUV that you really could go off roading with, at the same time as having a nice luxury vehicle.
But as for a Golf based...I would probably pass...I'll take a wagon if I need a little more room.

SRS...but living in Buffalo wouldn't you want a higher riding station wagon aka sport ut? Wait I'm asking the craniumily challenged  what was I thinking...

Why would I want a higher riding one when I'm cruising around in my 4 Motion Passie? Forget the sport ut!!

well you really can't go off roading with a 4-mo passat.

no thing of the fun you could have with a veedub off the road :D

Right...but I will take a T-reg for that. I doubt that a golf based suv will have all the goodies that make the T-reg a good off road car.
It probably will be like an Escape or something like that.
